Announcing the 2008 Unity Awards
Last year's Top DOG finalists had their games published on Shockwave.com. What will happen to this year's winners?
Buckle your seat belts, strap on your thinking caps, warm up your coding fingers, and oil your artist elbows. The Unity Awards 2008 is open and accepting entries. Building on the phenomenal success of last year's Top DOG competition, the introductory year for the Unity Awards is bigger, badder, and better than ever.
Work with friends or go solo. Make a game. Any game. Standalone, web player, dashboard widget, it doesn't matter. Build something great to win something great.
Categories and Prizes
We'll be awarding a unique prize to the winner of each category.
- Best Overall Game - €2000
- Forum Favorite - €1000
- Best Gameplay - Prizes to be announced
- Best Visual Design - Prizes to be announced
Beta Milestone
Unity Technologies wants everyone's game to shine and sparkle. In that spirit, all teams are encouraged to share a beta version of their entry on the Unity forum. Doing so will generate valuable play testing feedback you can use to improve your game. Don't be afraid to share your game multiple times to get even more feedback!
If you don't want to expose your game to the Unity forum, you will still need to submit a beta version to Unity Technologies. Either way, you must share a beta before 11:59pm GMT on September 15th, 2008. Teams who have not shared their beta with the forum or Unity Techologies by the deadline will be disqualified.
